Membership

The Kentfield-Greenbrae Historical Society (KGHS) was created in 2012 to collect, preserve and promote the wonderful stories of our community. Membership in the KGHS makes you part of a growing group of community members dedicated to exploring and documenting our local history before it’s lost forever.

We have published “In the Heart of Marin: The History of Kentfield and Greenbrae,” by noted author and historian, Dewey Livingston, and companion books:  “Oral History Projects” and “Historical Reflections.”

We hosted the Centennial Celebration in 2014 recognizing 100 years of excellence in education in the Kentfield School District. We have continued to host the May History and Heritage Days in partnership with the Bon Air Center along with special programs for our members.

We are working with the Kentfield School District to create a curriculum and share local history with the students.

We publish a quarterly member online newsletter: the Kentfield-Greenbrae Historian as well as maintain our website www.kghs.org.

We are continuing research on the history of the region, gathering oral histories, and collecting artifacts and photos for our archives.

By becoming a member of the KGHS, you’ll receive invitations to special members’ events as well as our popular newsletter, the Kentfield-Greenbrae Historian.  You’ll also enjoy the opportunity to meet other interesting people who share an interest in uncovering the past.
