Ross McKenna is currently serving his second term on the school board of the Kentfield School District. His family came to California in the late 1800’s and settled in the bay area. He is the third generation to be born in San Francisco. He moved to Marin in 1989 from SF after living in New York for five years. He learned of his connection to Ross Valley when he discovered that his grandparents use to take the ferry each weekend from the East Bay to hike Mount Tamalpais with a hiking club. They loved the area so much that they chose to get married at St Anselm Church in 1920. Ross actively represents the Kentfield School District Board of Trustees on three county committees, the Ross Valley Little league board and many other committees throughout Kentfield and Greenbrae.
